Year 6 showed great respect when they visited Manchester Cathedral recently. This term in Religious Education (RE) lessons, pupils have been considering the key question of what is more important to religious people, architecture or charity.

We observed all of the intricate details of the cathedral and observed many features, such as the stained-glass windows, stone carvings and the cathedra. Whilst we were amazed by the grandeur, we also learnt it cost a lot of money to maintain. We used what we had found out to develop our arguments linking back to our key question. 

Whilst in Manchester, we also showcased our map reading skills, which we have been developing during Geography lessons. Before the trip, we had conducted research about transport in Manchester and plotted the route we were going to travel whilst in the city. Year 6 successfully followed their map through Manchester to reach other churches.
