On Tuesday, Year 4 and Year 5 gathered to enjoy a celebration assembly featuring their classmates who had been involved in this year's Good to Great initiative. It was wonderful to dedicate our weekly singing assembly slot to a celebration of both instrumental Primary Music and singing. The Good to Great initiative aimed to provide pupils with the opportunity to develop their musical abilities, and hopefully instigate a lifelong instrumental  legacy.  Pupils in Year 4 had the opportunity to learn to play the J-Sax as part of weekly group sessions, and Year 5 had the same group sessions on P-Trumpets and P-Bones.

After some vocal warm-ups and whole group songs, the J-Sax ensemble, lead by their Teacher, Mr Z Smith, performed Hot Cross Buns, Andrew Mine - Jasper Mine, and Mary had a Little Lamb. This was then followed by the Brass students, lead by Ms G Harmen, performing I Feel Good - complete with actions, Match of the Day - complete with audience participation and Spain. To finish our celebration event, Ms Harman lead the whole of Year 4 and 5 in an action song, which was brilliant fun!

It was fabulous to see the developing confidence and musicality shown by these young musicians over the year - truly a Tuneful Tuesday to remember!
