On Saturday 13 July, the Manchester Achievement Awards 2024 took place at Gorton Monastery.  The event celebrated the achievements of students who have excelled in different areas during the last academic year. 

The awards ceremony was hosted by numerous well-known people, including the Mayor of Manchester. There were also inspirational speakers, who spoke of their own personal experiences in overcoming all odds to succeed.

All our students enjoyed the event and were presented with certificates and gift bags. The nominations for our school were:

  • Aysha (Year 7) – Self Management Award
  • Malakai (Year 10) - Self-Belief Award
  • Logan (Year 9) – Communication Award
  • Malakai (Year 10) - Resilience Award
  • Arees (Year 9) - Self-Belief Award
  • Lexi (Year 11) – Resilience Award

One student commented, “It has been a lovely day and I really found it an exciting experience”. Whilst another commented, “I have really enjoyed the day, especially the inspirational speeches”.
